SAN CLEMENTE – Three Marines were stabbed during a fight with two men early Saturday morning, authorities said, and one of the pairs was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The fight broke out shortly after 1 a.m. in the 200 block of El Camino Real, Orange County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jaimee Blashaw said.

The Marines, two 21-year-old men and a 23-year-old man – were taken to a hospital, Blashaw said. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening, she said.

The two other men, 26 and 24, and a 20-year-old woman were detained by authorities.

The 24-year-old man, Alexis Moreno-Aguirre, later was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Blashaw said. His city of residence was not immediately available.

The investigation is continuing.
